Please Don’t Begin Your FB Posts With, “Why ___ Is Important”

Here’s one “content mistake” I see all the time that often results in people scrolling past your content without paying attention (and therefore doesn’t get you the DM inquiries and sales of your high-ticket program):

You’re beginning your post with a statement of, “WHY _____ IS IMPORTANT.”

This doesn’t work!

The “blank” can be filled in with any piece of your method/solution – why eating greens is important, why asking good questions is important in sales, why the right positioning is important in marketing, etc.

It really doesn’t matter what’s in the blank.

The point is that this doesn’t work because it’s not meeting the prospect where they are.

It’s not relating your topic to a PROBLEM they’re experiencing.

“Here’s why it’s important to eat more greens” sounds preachy and academic. I’m already not interested.

But what about, “Here’s one reason why you are fatigued all day long and can’t stay awake long enough to complete even one task: you might not be eating enough greens”….?

If that kind of fatigue is a problem I’m experiencing, you can bet that I’m immediately stopping my scroll and reading that post.

I can apply this logic to any topic you might be writing about.

“Why asking good questions is important in sales”

Scroll, buh-bye. Sounds like it’s gonna be something that miiiight be interesting in an academic sort of way – not in a relevant-to-me sort of way.

But change it to “here’s why you only get 1 in 10 people saying ‘yes’ on your sales calls: you are asking low quality questions. Let me give an example of one such question…”

Now, if I’m experiencing that problem of a really low close rate, that post is suddenly going to be worth my time. And my brain will make that calculation instantaneously and stop scrolling without my even being consciously aware of why I did it.

“Why the right positioning is important in marketing”

What’s fascinating about this one is that even though positioning is a topic that I personally love, teach, and use every day in my own work – I’m STILL not interested in reading that post.

Because I don’t just love the topic as an academic thing – I love what it can DO for people. I love how it SOLVES problems.

So, instead of “why the right positioning is important,” how about…

“If your high-ticket offer is not selling the way you’d like it to, it could be because people don’t really ‘get’ what it’s about. The fancy term for that is ‘positioning’… Let’s talk about how to shift your positioning so that when people read about your offer, they immediately go, ‘Ohhh! I get it! I want that!’ and send you a DM.”

See how the tiniest shifts in your content can suddenly make your expertise and offer “click” for people so that they understand what you’re offering and why they need it?

If you have a well-established expertise, have at least some clients getting great results, and have gotten clients from your content before, there’s a good chance that you don’t have very many shifts to make in your content before you’ll be able to sell your high-ticket offer very consistently.

And spotting the shifts is an intuitive gift (not just gift but superpower, really) of mine that I’ve honed over nearly 10 years of practice with coaches and other expert entrepreneurs.

If you want more high-ticket clients from your content, signing up for my 30-day 1-on-1 intensive would be one of the biggest no-brainers for you.

It pays for itself with 1-2 clients (less than one, even, in some cases) and you’ll have clarity that lasts a lifetime.

You’ll know the exact formula for writing posts that fit your unique business and offer and consistently get people stopping, reading, and DMing you so you can sell your high ticket offer consistently (I’ve sold mine over 150 times in approximately 3 years).

One of the things that clients say they love most about my work is that I don’t just give feedback on posts one-by-one – “change this, change that.”

I actually help them to understand the 1 or 2 common mistakes that they’re making in EVERY post so that they can self-check and catch the mistakes in the future without needing me to stay by their side for the rest of their lives and point every little thing out.

That’s hugely valuable, no?

If you agree, send me a DM on FB about this program.

Also be aware that if you join my upcoming Strong Method Certification Program, I’ll be showing how to help your own clients get this kind of clarity about their content and offers – so that the value of your own copy/messaging coaching will substantially increase.

DM me on FB if you’re interested in the certification program – I have a waitlist going and the program is very close to being ready now 😉
