You May Attract Clients Who Are Hard to Help If You Don’t Know How to Describe What You’re an Expert In

If you’re frustrated because your clients seem to be really hard for you to help and aren’t moving forward with their challenges, it could be that you’re inadvertently attracting the wrong people because you don’t know how to describe what you’re ACTUALLY an expert in.

This used to be the case for me. I would attract all sorts of clients who seemed to want all sorts of things from me that I was not an expert in and did not know how to deliver.

This fed into a vicious cycle of self-doubt because I thought I had to know EVERYTHING about everything in order to help people. And, at that rate, I would never be “good enough.”

In reality, I just needed to work with people whose main challenge was the one I DID know how to solve.

Let me explain.

My gift is in seeing what a clearly-worded niche and outcome looks like.

But that is NOT helpful to people who have no clue what they’re an expert in or what they enjoy. Or have never helped anyone in the niche they’re thinking about entering.

My messaging used to say things like, “I will help you narrow your niche” or even “I will help you to FIND your niche.”

I now see that that wording can be taken in all sorts of ways – some of which would attract the wrong people.

I used to attract clients who seemed to expect me to help them “test” different niches that they were thinking about entering.

Or to tell them what niches were hot/profitable.

Or to help them with their fears of not being “good enough” to coach in their recently-chosen niche. (The irony…)

None of that is my expertise or gift!

However, if someone has had a lot of experience coaching and has a pretty clear idea of what their main niche is (like helping with business vs. health vs. relationships vs. personal development) and had at least some clients get good results in that niche, I am fantastic at seeing what was different about those clients that allowed them to get those results (as opposed to those who didn’t), and at putting accurate and specific wording to those differences AND to the results so that the coach can consistently attract more of those people.

Which, essentially, means I can help someone articulate the niche that they are already in and know intuitively, but have trouble describing.

Once I started saying THAT, it was amazing what a difference there was in who I attracted.

Almost everyone was in a place where they needed exactly what I’m great at – and didn’t pepper me with questions about things that I don’t know about or am not good at.

Which meant that I got to be a genius (and feel like one) nearly 100% of the time.

And life was 1,000% better. Suddenly I loved what I was doing, for the very first time, and no longer felt like there was something “wrong” with me for not being able to help every person who came through my door.

It’s kinda like when I used to do ballroom dance (you know, back when we lived in a normal world) and felt like I was two completely different people from moment to moment based on who I was paired up with.

Every single one of us is a brilliant genius when paired up with the right client, and a clumsy fool when paired up with the wrong one.

If you want help really seeing what is different about your best-result-getting clients, in a way that you can put wording to it so you will only attract those kinds of folks in the future, that’s one of the main things I help coaches and experts with in my 1:1 30-day intensive.

I’ve spent over 7 years making all the messaging mistakes, and I’ve distilled all the necessary distinctions into an awesome framework for you so you don’t have to make them anymore either. 😉

DM me on Facebook if interested and we’ll have a chat to see if you’re a good candidate to get results in the program. If yes, I’m accepting new clients right now!

I am also offering a certification program for those who are interested in teaching my methods to their own clients. You can also send me a DM on Facebook if you’re interested in that!
