You Don’t Need a Team to Bring In $30K-$50K/Month

If you REQUIRE a team to help you bring in $30K-$50K/month, something might be amiss.

This isn’t a criticism of people who have teams. It’s just to let you know what’s possible. Some of us bring in those amounts as solopreneurs and don’t work constantly either.

(one of my favorite examples of this was a recent month where I took four whole personal days off and brought in $39.5K!)

A “stealth” research project I’ve been doing the past few months is examining the websites/social presences/other material from people who are posting about how they have teams (in some cases, more than just an assistant, more like a team of 4-5 or more people!) but that their business brings in well under 7 figures.

What did I find?

Well, as you might expect, I found that what they’re offering isn’t super clear.

(Which in a way I suppose is good news? It’s possible to make it to multiple-six figures even if what you’re offering isn’t totally clear!)

But, for example, some of them say they are marketing experts.

And when I look at their websites I see lots of testimonials saying things like, “[NAME] is so great! He really helped me with my business! He really knows what he’s doing when it comes to marketing!”

That isn’t a clear result (or any result at all actually), of course.

One person even offered a high-ticket marketing program whose entire super-long sales page said absolutely nothing about results… it basically said over and over, “This is the best marketing program you’ll ever buy! It’s not like any other marketing program you’ve ever tried!”

I’m not sure how they’re making multiple-six figures from that… but I know there are many possibilities as to how/why..

Maybe they’re using a pushy sales process that makes the prospect wrong if they’re doubtful about moving forward because of the lack of clarity in the marketing even though they might like the business owner based on what they’ve seen from them on social media.

(Not that I’ve ever been on the receiving end of that kind of sales process, of course… not once… not at all. 😉 😉 )

Another person had phrases like “marketing with ease” and “marketing with heart for coaches and consultants” all over her website. I looked hard (really hard) through all the pages of the site to try to find something more specific, but couldn’t.

Yet another person had lots of social media posts all about how it’s important to have the right marketing strategy, but not once did she ever spell out what marketing strategy/strategies she specializes in, or how it works, step-by-step.

It’s not surprising to me that these folks need to have teams to bring in $30K or more per month. Because an unclear message has to work a lot harder to bring you leads and clients.

Fewer people will respond to an unclear message, so you’ll need a bigger audience to get the same number of clients as some of us get from a much smaller one.

Which means they’re probably needing to pay for advertising and probably are paying someone to run that also.

The people who DO respond to an unclear message, tend to still have a lot of questions about what you offer, how you do it, what results can be expected, etc. A.k.a., all the stuff that I teach people to spell out in their marketing 🙂

So these folks are probably needing to do sales calls to answer all those questions from prospects.

And with such unclear messaging on the front end, they probably don’t have a high close rate for their calls on the back end.

Which means they’re probably needing to do a lot of calls to close enough clients to reach $30K or more.

Which means they probably don’t have time to do all the calls themselves.

Which means they’re probably paying someone to do them.

I don’t know all of this for sure, of course. I’m only looking at the unequal outcomes here (solopreneur making $30K++ with ease and in part time hours vs. someone needing 4-5 people to help them get the same outcome) and trying to figure out the reason, filling in the gaps with what I know to be true about clear messaging.

In some ways, I’ve been there. I used to have to do a ton of calls to get enough “yes”es to even cover my monthly bills. And I used to have to pay $1,000 for FB ads to even get 100 people in my Facebook group.

Now I’m doing everything organically – no calls, no ads – and my income has 10X’d. And the main thing that’s changed is that I’m spelling out who exactly I work with, what specific results I get, and how I get those results.

A lot of people THINK they’re spelling those things out (and even ostensibly teach messaging to their own clients, in some cases), but in reality, they aren’t.

Spelling them out clearly looks like:

“We help experienced coaches and consultants who’ve sold a high-ticket offer ($3K+) before to get at least 4 enrollments for that offer every month, without ad spend.”

OR

“I help people with subject-matter expertise who want to be coaches or consultants to get their first 5-10 clients for their own business without having a clear niche.”

(and then 200-300 words more about HOW you do that so there’s no mystery)

(and then a lot of additional separate posts breaking those 200-300 words apart and spelling out the separate points even more)

(and always weaving in what these people need to already know, have, or believe in order to get the promised results)

Can you envision how much this kind of clarity would transform these businesses?

Their lead generation, qualification, and sales processes would become more efficient at calling forward and enrolling the right people, almost overnight.

They might even be able to raise prices (by a LOT) if they realized who their truly ideal client was – the one who was practically guaranteed to get results because of what they were bringing to the table. A lot of people keep their prices at the “lowest common denominator” to accommodate those who are not ideal clients and don’t get the best results. With clarity about the truly ideal client you can stop doing that.

That was exactly what happened for me when I had my epiphany about the clear outcome and qualifications of my ideal client – as well as HOW exactly I would help them – and started weaving all of those things into my content. Within just a few months I had 10X’d my monthly income, stopped all funnels and ad spend, and stopped sales calls. And I also loved my life about 100X more.

If you’re at six or multiple-six figures (or even seven), my 30-day intensive may be a great fit for you to help simplify your business dramatically and make it more profitable (more money, less time – or same amount of money in less time and/or with less help!).

I also sometimes work with people who are under six figures but have a great deal of experience with coaching/consulting/doing the thing they do and have a good idea of what type of person gets best results with them… and want to avoid all the complicated stuff described above and go straight to the easy business model that many of us enjoy today.

This 30-day intensive is a deep dive into all areas of your business – your outcome, your ideal client, your main offer, how you get results, your organic lead generation process on social media, and your sales process – to refine and clarify everything.

We also work on putting all those distinctions into my two proven post frameworks (the direct offer post and the educational or “belief-shifting” post), and I review and give feedback on your post-writing.

You will also get lifetime access to a private FB community of over 130 incredible alumni of this program and updates to all of my frameworks as I tweak and improve them over time. I’ve also been known to offer free Q & A calls and other goodies to alumni.

Just DM me on Facebook if you’re interested in the program and we’ll have a chat over Messenger to see if it’s a good fit.
