Why They Follow/Engage/Like/Share But Don’t Buy: You Haven’t Invited Them To Buy

There seem to be a lot of elaborate theories out there about why folks follow/engage/like/share your content but don’t ultimately buy from you.

“It’s your energy!” “You’re not projecting enough authority!” “You’re giving too much away!”

Yeah, whatever. 😉

In my experience, the reason is usually much more fundamental:

You haven’t actually invited them to buy.

Might sound obvious, but I’ve sometimes found myself reviewing scads of posts/content for clients of mine who were confused about why no one was buying, and often not a single post actually mentioned an offer or gave a specific action that readers should take if they were interested.

Direct offers are allowed in my Facebook group Organic High Ticket Sales for Coaches & Experts, and yet I STILL don’t see most of my members mentioning offers in their posts. 🤔

Yes, it can sometimes happen that folks will read an insightful post from you, get curious about what programs you offer, and start clicking around trying to find that information. Or DM you about it.

But you shouldn’t count on that.

You definitely shouldn’t count on it happening OFTEN.

While on social media we’re all time-poor as well as dumber versions of ourselves. 😉 So you really have to spell things out, more than you think you do.

Your inquiries and reach-outs will skyrocket when you start weaving details about your offer INTO your content rather than making someone go hunt for them.

You need to be really, REALLY clear when you make a call-to-action. What is the offer, exactly? Who’s it for? What outcome does it get? What’s the starting point? What topics/steps does it include? How long is it? What’s the format? What’s the next step for people who are interested?

Of course, you may not actually KNOW the above details of your offer. That’s often an even more fundamental problem – you’re doing totally custom work or you haven’t narrowed your niche enough to be able to create something pre-packaged. You figure you’ll just make custom proposals to those who reach out to you.

You’re free to go that route if you wish, but I’ll tell you that from a client attraction perspective it’s SO much harder and slower.

(Not to mention that it’s not at all scalable if you care about that sort of thing)

When you’re clear on the details of your pre-packaged offer and who it’s for, that knowledge actually informs what you write about in your content and how you frame it.

You start to write in a more specific way, rather than just sharing the general insights and inspiration. And you start to see so many ways you could weave in invitations to join your program.

Plus, having an off-the-shelf “product” puts you in leadership of your clients and their outcomes – rather than trying to bend and twist to fit what your clients think they need. That kind of bold leadership tends to permeate everything you say and do, including your posts and other marketing. The best clients are HUNGRY for that kind of leadership. And I think that’s another huge reason why the pre-packaged offers get so much interest when you describe them the right way. (Hmm, maybe there’s a LITTLE something to the “it’s your energy” theory. 😉 )

So, if you’re an expert at what you do and you’ve been trying the organic marketing thing for a while and aren’t making at least $10K-$30K+ per month from it, my guess is that you’re actually closer to success than you think. You just need to get a bit clearer on your offer(s) and do a slightly better job of weaving your offer(s) into your content.

(Might need a higher volume of leads too, but that’s easily fixed when social media gives us the ability to directly connect with our ideal clients every day 😉 )

If you want help making these tweaks and skyrocketing your results, that’s exactly what I do with coaches and experts in my 30-day 1:1 intensive.

There’s no fluff in this program – I know you’re not a beginner at any of this, so I’ve included everything you need and NOTHING you don’t.

We get clear on your offer, how to describe it, and how to pre-sell it with your posts so you get reach-outs in your DMs. Plus how to get in front of lots of new people every day who may need your offer.

DM me on FB if you’re interested and we’ll have a quick chat to see if it’s a fit.

I’m getting tons of DMs about this right now, so to help me sort through, please include the following in your initial message:

-your expertise/business

-your current average monthly revenue

-your desired monthly revenue

-when you’d like to achieve that goal

Many thanks 🙂
