If you want to earn more money for less of your time, optimize the process you take clients through.
One of my top tips for this is to simplify the concepts you’re sharing with clients – so that they “get” them faster.
As an example, I used to teach a lot of different types of content creation to attract leads. And I felt like I needed to have a module on each type and then spend a week on each module with clients.
This led to feeling like my program needed to be at least 90 days long, and even then people would ask for extensions at the end of the program because they hadn’t had a chance to get through all of the content and ask all their questions. And very few attracted any leads during the program.
Over time, I realized that 90% of the types of content I was teaching were actually very similar to each other – and I could boil them all down to one basic framework, which is what I now present as the “belief-shifting post” framework.
This also makes it simple enough that I can teach it in my free content, and by the time clients come to me they have usually already tried their hand at the framework and I can dive right into their posts and quickly diagnose where they’re “off” – and many end up attracting leads and clients while we’re still working together. (And my main program is a lot shorter now – 30 days rather than many months long!)
And I think my potential clients can tell how simple I’ve made the teaching and how quickly I’ll be able to diagnose where they’re off, so I get almost no objections to the length of the program – people can see how powerful it will be and they’re willing to pay far more for this program than most of my past clients were willing to pay for much MORE of my time and effort.
This doesn’t mean that everybody needs to have a 30-day program – that won’t work for all outcomes. But it does mean that most of you can deliver your outcomes faster than you currently are.
Therapists who normally take two to five years to get a relationship functioning in a healthy way again, can you do that in two or three months?
(Hint: Yes! I’ve had quite a few clients who’ve devised relationship mastery programs that boil down the essentials of what their clients need to know in a very condensed format.)
Health folks who normally have a year-long program, can you diagnose people’s issues faster and give them more targeted guidance or add in more done-for-you elements to speed them along?
(Yes on that one too, I’ve seen some great health offers that are 3-6 months long that are getting great results)
How can you make your concepts, strategies and to-dos more easily understandable and doable for your clients who aren’t experts like you are?
This is one of the most powerful questions you can answer if you want to earn a lot more without working a lot more.
Have fun with this question. Never stop optimizing.
And don’t forget to keep your price the same after you reduce the length of the program. 😉 😉 😉
Helping people to optimize their process is just one of the many topics that we whip through in my 30-day one-on-one intensive (and yes, it is intense!).
We look at how you can deliver outcomes more efficiently – but then, we also look at how you can TALK about your outcomes and concepts more efficiently, so that potential clients grasp the point in fewer words (500 words for your offer, 1000-ish words for your belief-shifting/lead-generating posts).
Which will also save you time, as clients will come to you already understanding what you do (and even already having started implementing it, in some cases) and you won’t have to spend all day on the phone or Messenger trying to convince people to sign up.
Sounds good, doesn’t it?
It’s funny how taking another look at your actual offer and body of work can solve so many marketing and sales problems indirectly.
