Posting Content Can Bring In Clients Just As Quickly As DM’ing/Direct-Pitching People

A common claim made in FB groups is that it takes longer to attract clients to contact you via content marketing than it does to get clients via sending lots of direct messages to share what you do, invite people to calls, pitch them, etc.

Interestingly, no one ever seems to provide evidence for this claim. 😉

They just make vague statements like “well, it will take a while for people following your content to know/like/trust you and become interested enough to reach out. Whereas if you message someone directly and offer them the chance to know more about what you do, you could get a client TODAY.”

I’m here to say that you can also get a client TODAY if you post a piece of great content. 😉

The interesting thing about my method is that each piece of content we write can stand alone as a pre-selling tool.

What I mean is: each post contains all the information about what we do and how to work with us.

It’s true that each post focuses on a slightly different topic, but at the end of the post we relate that topic back to our offer and briefly list what other topics are included in our work so that the reader has a full picture.

(This is quite different from most other content marketing methods, which teach that the different pieces of content should reveal different things to the reader/consumer in “stages.” Or gradually build up to the “launch” or big reveal of something. With this method we compress all of those stages into one post and every post.)

So, in theory, a small handful of posts (or even just one) should be enough to convince someone that your work is relevant for them and would be helpful in solving their problems.

My experience validates this theory.

I’ve had some clients tell me that they just read a handful of my posts before sending me the DM to inquire about working together. They said they were amazed that a few relatively short pieces of content managed to say so much.

I’ve also been delighted to see that many clients in my program start getting leads and clients within a week or two of starting to post in my framework. Which would also validate the theory that attraction methods don’t have to take long to get people messaging you.

This, of course, would only hold true if you’ve already built something of an audience, so you have people to see your posts.

But if you don’t have an audience, this is quickly fixed by beginning to send out friend requests. And you can start getting leads with a very small number of friends. I’ve had people tell me they got inquiries and clients with just a few hundred friends, or even less.

So, yep – there’s no reason you can’t get results right now or in the very near future.

The main reasons (in my experience) why people DON’T get leads and clients quickly with this method are:

  1. They’re not an expert on anything yet and don’t know what they want to coach on, or don’t know how to help clients get outcomes. (Only an expert who knows what results they can deliver will be able to write Strong-Method-style posts.)
  2. They’re not actually writing their content in the framework that I teach (though they THINK they are).

If reason #1 above applies to you, then I’m not the person to help you.

But if it’s reason #2, I could be EXACTLY the person to help you. 🙂

Writing and sharing these two kinds of posts is actually the fastest way I know of to bring in clients.

The first time I posted them I brought in $10K of sales within a few days. I’ve now earned over $800K and haven’t reached out to a single prospect in the DMs – they all message me from my content.

I think that’s proof enough that you don’t have to do that kind of direct outreach if you don’t want to. 😉
